Provincial Investment Supports Local Water Infrastructure in Grand Valley
February 1, 2026
GRAND VALLEY – Our government is investing up to $1.3 million to strengthen critical water infrastructure in the Town of Grand Valley, supporting safe drinking water, local jobs, and long-term community resilience. This funding is being delivered through Ontario’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program – Health and Safety Water Stream (MHIP-HSWS), which was expanded by $700 million to $875 million to help communities protect essential services and prepare for extreme weather.
“This investment will help ensure Grand Valley residents and businesses continue to have access to safe, reliable drinking water,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “By supporting core water infrastructure like Well #3 and the Melody Lane pumphouse, our government is helping our community maintain essential services that families and local employers rely on every day.”
The MHIP-HSWS funding will be used replace Well #3 and upgrade the Melody Lane Water Treatment Pumphouse, extending the life of these systems and improving reliability for years to come.
“The Town of Grand Valley is very happy to be receiving $1.3 million to rehabilitate the Town’s Well #3 through the Health and Safety Water Stream of the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program,” said Steve Soloman, Mayor of the Town of Grand Valley. “We greatly appreciate the continued support of the Provincial Government in our effort to maintain a safe and healthy drinking water supply for our community. With this new funding, we will be able to continue relying on this source of drinking water for residents and businesses for many years to come.”
This project is part of Ontario’s $4 billion Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program, included in the province’s $220 billion capital plan, the most ambitious in Ontario’s history, to build and renew transit, highways, hospitals, schools, and water infrastructure that communities depend on.
