Ontario Welcomes a Historic $15 billion Investment from Honda
Honda has announced a historic $15 billion investment in Ontario to create Canada’s first comprehensive EV supply chain.
This investment will allow Honda Canada to build four new manufacturing plants in our province, which will include a world-class EV assembly plant, a battery manufacturing plant, a cathode plant, and a separator plant.
In addition to securing the current employment of 4,200 associates at its two existing facilities, this investment will create over one thousand new jobs for the EV and EV battery manufacturing facilities in Alliston, Ontario.
This is the largest auto investment in Canadian history, which will include a new assembly plant that will produce up to 240,000 vehicles per year.
With today’s investment, Ontario has now landed over $43 billion in transformative auto and EV investments in the past three years.
Honda has had a presence in Ontario since 1986, and our government is thrilled to see the company continue to choose our province.
This investment is a vote of confidence in Ontario and our workers.
