Ontario Upgrading Highway 9 at Gore Road Intersection

Province building safer, faster highway infrastructure across Caledon, Peel, Adjala-Tosorontio and Simcoe.

Caledon, Ontario – The Ontario government is investing $5.92 million to upgrade Highway 9 at the Gore Road intersection and surrounding areas to enhance safety, fight gridlock, and grow local economies in the Town of Caledon, the Region of Peel, the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio and the County of Simcoe.

Construction began in April 2025 and is scheduled for completion later this year.

Improvements include:

  • Installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 9 and Gore Road
  • Localized widening at Highway 9 and Gore Road to accommodate turning movements
  • Widening Concession Road 3 at Highway 9 to accommodate turning movements
  • Construction of a new cul-de-sac on Coolihans Side Road at Highway 9
  • Lighting and drainage improvements

“This investment brings our Caledon community safe and reliable transportation infrastructure that connects people to jobs and housing and makes it easier for them to get where they need to go,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “This is part of our government’s nearly $30 billion plan to protect Ontario by investing in highways, roads and bridges across the province, creating thousands of good-paying jobs and supporting our economy.
