Ontario Investing In Health Infrastructure at Headwaters Health Care Centre

April 2, 2026

DUFFERIN-CALEDON – Our government is investing in critical health care infrastructure at Headwaters Health Care Centre to help ensure patients and staff continue to receive care in a safe and reliable environment.

As part of the 2025-26 Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF), Headwaters Health Care Centre will receive an additional $1,500,000 in funding, bringing the total to $3,568,723, to support essential upgrades to hospital infrastructure.

The funding will be used to replace key building systems, including the automatic control system, glycol distribution system, and the ecologizer, helping to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable hospital operations.

“Our government is continuing to invest in local health infrastructure to ensure hospitals have the resources they need to provide high-quality care,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “This investment in Headwaters Health Care Centre will support critical upgrades, helping maintain safe and dependable services for patients and families across our community.”

“This investment is critical to ensuring Headwaters Health Care Centre remains a safe, reliable, and resilient environment for our patients, families, and staff,” said Kim Delahunt, President & CEO of Headwaters Health Care Centre. “By upgrading essential building systems, we are strengthening our infrastructure to support uninterrupted care today and into the future, and we are grateful for the provincial government’s continued commitment to community hospitals like ours.”

Across Ontario, the government is allocating up to $44.6 million through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund to support 32 hospitals with important upgrades. These projects focus on key priorities, including health and safety, code compliance and preventing system breakdowns, ensuring facilities remain safe and operational.

By investing in hospital infrastructure, the Ontario government is helping strengthen the health care system and improve the patient experience across the province.
