Ontario Investing $348,100 in Repairs and Upgrades for Community Living Dufferin

Funding will help ensure families have access to high-quality programs

DUFFERIN– MPP Sylvia Jones joined Community Living Dufferin for its second annual Community Living Dufferin Fundraiser to announce $348,100 in provincial funding for critical repairs and upgrades through the Partner Facility Renewal (PFR) Grant from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

“Community Living Dufferin has provided our community with exceptional services and support for over seven decades, continually improving the lives of those they serve,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “Our government is proud to help fund and support repairs and enhancements to their building, so they can continue to care for and deliver essential services and high-quality programs.”

Community Living Dufferin assists adults and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the County. It offers residential care, employment training, day programs, and support for community inclusion.

Funding through PFR will support Community Living Dufferin in repairing and upgrading its exterior walkways, stairs, and decks, as well as its garage-to-residential conversion, fencing, and renovations to program areas and washrooms.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Government of Ontario’s continued investment in Community Living Dufferin through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ Partner Facility Renewal Grant. This funding allows us to address important repairs, renovations and infrastructure upgrades, helping ensure the homes of the people we support remain safe, accessible and well-maintained. It will also help us increase our capacity and support more individuals and families in Dufferin County who are in need of services,” said Diane Kite, Executive Director, Community Living Dufferin. “Investments like the PFR Grant are essential across the developmental services sector, helping organizations renew aging infrastructure, maintain quality community-based homes and expand services to meet growing needs. For Community Living Dufferin, this investment strengthens our homes, increases our capacity and allows us to respond to the growing need for developmental services in Dufferin County.”

This year, as part of the PFR Program, the government is investing a total of $25 million in 192 community agencies across the province.

“Community-based organizations are essential in helping people across Ontario access reliable programs and services,” said Michael Parsa, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services. “Through these investments, our government is supporting hundreds of agencies so they can continue providing children, youth and families with the tools and support they need to succeed in their communities.”
