Ontario Government Investing Over $9.4 Million to Improve Highway 10 and Enhance Road Safety in Caledon

October 28, 2025

CALEDON – The Ontario government is investing more than $9.4 million to resurface and upgrade Highway 410/10 interchange north to south of Forks of the Credit Road, including improvements to the Victoria Truck Inspection Station (TIS). This investment will significantly enhance road safety and ensure smoother, more reliable travel for drivers, commuters, and commercial vehicles across the region.

Construction began on September 2, 2025, and includes resurfacing approximately 13 kilometres of highway (two lanes), pavement renewal, and electrical upgrades at the Victoria TIS. These improvements will enhance traction, visibility, and overall driving conditions, especially during inclement weather. Most of the highway paving is expected to be completed before the winter shutdown, weather permitting, with remaining paving and electrical work scheduled for completion in spring 2025.

“Highway 10 is a vital route for residents, commuters, and businesses across Dufferin-Caledon,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “These resurfacing and rehabilitation upgrades will greatly improve safety for drivers, reduce wear and tear on vehicles, and ensure the highway remains reliable in all seasons. I am hopeful that these necessary upgrades will mean the truck inspection station will open more to improve truck inspections.”

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the contractor began preparations at the Victoria TIS on September 17, 2025, and are working closely to accelerate operations while maintaining safety for workers and motorists. The project involves removing and replacing asphalt within the inspection station and adjacent highway sections.

Once completed, the upgraded TIS will return to full MTO operation, supporting safer and more efficient truck inspections.
