Over $1.1 million will fund additional surgeries and more CT scans for Dufferin-Caledon residents
DUFFERIN-CALEDON – The Ontario government is investing more than $1.1 million at Headwaters Health Care Centre to support more surgeries and increase CT scan capacity, improving access to care and reducing wait times for patients in Dufferin-Caledon.
Headwaters is receiving:
- $574,250 to support an additional 2,297 CT scan hours
- $587,100 from the Incremental Surgical Recovery Fund to complete more surgeries
“This investment from our government will help Headwaters reduce waitlists while improving health outcomes,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “By expanding the number of surgeries and CT scans performed at our local hospital, we are connecting more patients in our community to care when they need it most.”
CT scans play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, including cancer and internal injuries. The additional hours fund through this investment will allow Headwaters to serve more patients and increase clinical capacity. This investment is part of the province’s $81 million in one-time funding to support 324,000 additional CT hours at 86 hospitals.
The Incremental Surgical Recovery Fund will allow Headwaters to complete more procedures, including orthopedic surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, as well as cataract, hernia, gynecologic, pediatric, and other priority surgeries. By increasing local surgical volumes, this investment will help Dufferin-Caledon families receive care closer to home, improve patient flow, and support front-line hospital staff.
