News Release – Disaster Recovery Assistance Activated in Mono and Grand Valley

(Orangeville) – Yesterday the Ministry of Municipal Affairs informed M.P.P. Sylvia Jones that the Disaster Assistance for Ontarians Program was activated in parts of Mono and Grand Valley. The program is activated to help cover the costs of cleaning, repairing and replacing essential property after a natural disaster.

“I have received calls from residents affected by flooding in the past weeks. That is why I am pleased that the Minister has decided to active this program to help people get their lives back to normal,” said Jones.

“I encourage anyone who has been affected by the flooding in Mono and Grand Valley to contact my office to learn more details, or visit www.ontario.ca/disasterassistance. The deadline for the program is 120 days after the announcement or December 1st, 2017” said Jones.

“If you are having trouble with the application, call my office in Orangeville or Bolton for assistance,” said Jones.
