Locally, Caledon-Dufferin Victim Services (CDVS) provides compassionate, client-focused support to victims of crime, abuse and tragedy. Their programs are designed to support recovery through rapid response, informed referrals, and community partnerships. Family Transition Place (FTP) is another vital local organization that has been offering emergency shelter and outreach services to women and children experiencing abuse for over 40 years.With offices in Orangeville and support throughout Dufferin-Caledon, FTP is focused on supporting the holistic well-being of those affected by gender-based violence by providing crisis counselling, safety planning, legal advocacy, and transitional housing assistance.

The Sunrise Centre, located at the Headwaters Health Care Centre, provides 24/7 confidential medical and forensic care for individuals of all ages who have experienced sexual assault or intimate partner violence. Nurses specialized in trauma-informed care offer emergency services, follow-up care, and referrals to counselling and legal support. The Sunrise program is a partner-based initiative co-facilitated by Headwaters, Family Transition Place (FTP), and Dufferin Child and Family Services (DCAFS). This collaborative approach has served the community well, with each organization delivering services within this scope of practice and expertise – Headwaters offering medical-based support. At the same time, FTP and DCAFS provide counselling and community outreach to those in need.
