DriveTest Centre Restrictions

November 27, 2020

Dufferin-Caledon: Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney announced that all in-vehicle road tests are cancelled in regions that are in lock down. This applies to all Drive Test centre road tests in the Region of Peel and the City of Toronto. This action has been taken to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Road tests will be cancelled automatically for drivers who reside in Peel and Toronto and drivers will receive a credit towards their next booking.

“I am pleased that the MTO has directed the DriveTest centres to restrict residents from Peel and Toronto from being able to take a road test at the driver exam centre in Dufferin,” said Jones. “This will be in place for as long as the County of Dufferin remains at a lower COVID-19 level.”

“We know that these measures will result in some people experiencing longer wait times for road tests,” said Caroline Mulroney, Minister of Transportation. “However, these are unprecedented times and our number one priority is the health and safety of individuals, families and workers.”

DriveTest centres in the lockdown regions will be open for indoor services, such as knowledge tests, with capacity limits and COVID-19 preventative measures in place. DriveTest clients impacted by cancelled tests may rebook their road test when their region moves to a lower COVID-19 level.
