Nominations Open for Leading Women/Leading Girls Awards

(Orangeville) – The Leading Women/Leading Girls Building Communities Recognition Program is now accepting nominations from women and girls who have made a difference in their community. Nominations are submitted to local MPPs and then sent to the Minister of the Status of Women.

“I encourage individuals, schools, community groups and organizations to nominate a deserving woman in Dufferin-Caledon to receive this award. I see the many substantial contributions of women to our community, through charity, business and community engagement,” said Jones.

“Celebrating the leadership of women in our community is an exciting opportunity as we can recognize the contributions of impressive women leaders, and we can inspire the next female leaders in our communities to strive to achieve their goals,” said Jones.

“Details on the nomination package can be found here. Each nominee must have two letters of support from community members, and submitted to my office prior to January 20, 2018,” said Jones.

“The Leader Women/Leading Girls program recognizes women (nominees 18 years of age and older) and girls (nominees under 18) who have, “demonstrated exceptional community leadership to improve the lives of others and have made substantial contributions through volunteer work,” said Jones.
