Orangeville, ON – On Friday, local MPP Sylvia Jones met with the team at the Orangeville Food Bank to hear more about the $77,400 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that was used to renovate the property at the food bank to be able to increase services to the community. This project will allow the Orangeville Food Bank to continue to serve its increasing number of clients monthly.
“Our government recognizes that the Orangeville Food Bank plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families across our community,” said Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. “This Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant will help the Food Bank expand its capacity, improve services, and continue providing essential support to those who need it most.”
The funds were used to increase available office space, increase refrigerated storage by adding a chilled sea can to the back of the property, allowed for the purchase of additional seating in the waiting room, a floor scale and a snow blower for the safety of the clients during the winter months.

The Orangeville Food Bank provides vital support to individuals and families across Dufferin County who are facing food insecurity. Through community partnerships, innovative programs, and a focus on dignity and choice, the Food Bank distributes nutritious food and connects people to resources that promote long-term stability. With the support of a $77,400 Capacity Building Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Orangeville Food Bank is strengthening its systems, enhancing organizational capacity, and building the tools needed to meet rising demand and serve the community more effectively for years to come.
