News Release – Jones: Questions Premier on Failing to Investigate Wind Turbine Noise Complaints

(Queen’s Park) – On June 1, Sylvia Jones MPP Dufferin-Caledon questioned the Premier on the government’s history of not investigating wind turbine noise complaints, after a Global News article revealed that the Minister of Environment ignored thousands of complaints between 2006 and 2014.

“It is no surprise to me to learn from Global that the Minister has failed to investigate noise and health complaints related to Industrial Wind Turbines. Liberal Ministers had been ignoring home owners in Dufferin-Caledon for over ten years,” said Jones.

“In 2011 I asked the Minister of Environment to help the Whitworth family when their doctor recommended they leave their home because of noise and electrical pollution,” said Jones.

Then 2013, the Whitworth’s received a one sentence e-mail from the Minister of Environment that said “Yes the Ministry has close your file at this time and the Ministry will not be taking any action on your complaints.”

MPP Jones questioned to Premier saying, “Will the Premier do the right thing and re-open the Whitworth’s file?”
