MPP Sylvia Jones Congratulates Osprey Valley

Caledon, Ontario – This week, Tournament Players Club Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon became the fifth TPC property outside the United States and the first TPC property in Canada.

In response, the Hon. Sylvia Jones, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport and MPP for Dufferin-Caledon issued the following statement:

“This incredible development allows professional golfers across Ontario to compete in their own backyard. I’d like to extend my congratulations and appreciation to the Osprey Valley Resort team for their efforts that secured this partnership. Thank you also to the TPC and the PGA for choosing such a great course and region in their first step into Ontario and Canada.

“This news is a fantastic opportunity for our local business and tourism providers right here in Caledon. This decision re-enforces to the world that Ontario truly is open for business. I will always support measures to increase and diversify tourism opportunities across Ontario.”

BACKGROUND: 

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley has been ranked among ScoreGolf’s Top 100 courses in Canada and Canada’s Best 59 Public Golf Courses. The first course, Heathlands, was designed in 1991 by Ontario Golf Hall of Fame course architect Doug Carrick.
