Jones: Calls on New Minister of Health to Fix Failure in Long-Term Care

Queen’s Park – Today, the Ontario Progressive Conservative (PC) Caucus and MPP Sylvia Jones, called on the newly appointed Minister of Health and Long Term Care to address the failure to provide adequate long term care for Ontario’s seniors.

“I would like to share a heartbreaking story from a family in Dufferin-Caledon who were struggling to find care for their father,” said Jones.

“This 93 years old dad from Belfountain was forced to go to London, 3 hours away, to find a Long Term Care placement. 3 hours away from his friends and family,” said Jones

“To quote from his daughter, “something needs to be done to help the seniors of Ontario to live out the rest of their lives in a facility that is able to deal with their needs,” said Jones.

“Why is this government failing to provide the care that Ontario’s seniors deserve?,” asked Jones.
