JONES: AUTISM PARENTS STILL CAN’T TRUST THIS GOVERNMENT

(Queen’s Park) – Today, Sylvia Jones, MPP Dufferin-Caledon calls on the Minister of Children and Youth Services to restore the trust of parents by providing life-changing therapy to children with autism.

“Once again, parents of children with autism cannot trust this government to do the right thing,” Jones said.

“I was recently contacted by a parent whose daughter was removed from Intensive Behavioral Intervention therapy, even though the psychologist recommended she continue,” Jones said.

“Unfortunately the Minister’s administrator ignored the psychologist’s recommendation,” Jones said. “Parents want to be sure that when their child needs therapy they will receive it,” Jones said.

“Is this government trying to save money by once again removing children with autism from receiving IBI therapy?,” Jones said.

“It’s clear why there is a trust deficit between parents and this government,” Jones said.
